Well, I have finally found a hosting company for my bio page. I did a lot of research on hosting companies, and found most you have to pay a small fee a month for themto host the account. I found a free hosting companies, but some are difficult and some it is free for the hosting site but you must pay for the domain name. At websitesource.com charges 6.97 or 30.97 a month for just hosting if you choose their hosting with ecommerce it is 199 a month, they do have payment gateways available. The at web.com it is 11.95 for hosting and 59.95 for ecommerce hosting, they also offer search engine optimization. Webhostingsearch.com list companies you can use for your hosting. It does not show any free hosting companies. Jumpline. com claims to be a free hosting site, but it is only free for three months and you have to give them a credit card number when you sign up. So then I went to x10hosting.com signed up with them got a domain name made up, got confirmation code and entered it and then when tried to go to account manager file it would not let me. So it was really frustrating with the hassle. I tried to call their customer service but you have to leave a voicemail and it says only paying customers willl have their messages returned. So then I submitted a ticket for help online and got a weird message and no reply to issue. After all the fustration I gave up and found a different host. I then went to bravenet.com and got set up and confirmation code and then I had to set up a domain name and they charge for that 8.95 a year. The problem I had is that I did not have the money at the time. I will be doing that today or tomorrow and uploading my page to the site once have domain name. Bravenet seems very user friendly, not a lot of things to fill out. They also have a lot of extra features that are available for use. I like them. I am hoping the domain name for my bio page will be www.mickeyrhodybiowebclasspage.bravenet.com.
For the business site I am working on the owner already got a hosting name through godaddy.com. We are looking for the best hosting site to put the site on that has the least advertising on it. He says we can go through godaddy.com if we need to, but all his other phone services are with ATT and we are going to look into their hosting services. ATT offered two hosting plans, one with with windows and one without, they both have ecommerce service with them. The one with windows also has compatiblity with frontpage. So if you go with ATT we will go with the window plan since I used expressions to design the site. The plan is 11.65 a month.
Now for search engines. I have done a lot of research and have found a few sites and learned some differences. I have learned there are search engines and there is directories. I know where I go for a search engine I want with the most popular sites to upload to. I think I might even sign up with a company that registers you with many search engines. google.com/addurl lets you register but it seems by the research that when you register with them that is the only search engine you are registered with. it you for to quickregister.com it is free, fast, and easy and registeres you with 300 major search engines. At addpro.com to is free and registers yo to 18 top search engines. Searchengineoptimising.com/free-search-engine-submission you can register with you URL to over 100 search engines like google. At wordsinarow.com/wheretogo.html they give list of companies to get into directories. At walthowe.com/pubweb/promote/regosterse.html gives you advise for the best way to do search engines and lets you know you need to register with the top 8 search engines for sure and gives you a list of them. They also tell you the difference in search engines and directories and they give you a list of the top three directories with yahoo being the major one. At htmlgoodies.com/beyond/reference/article.../3472921 is an article that gives you vital information to help you know how to register you site with a search engine. One other free search engine site is register.com.
Okay now even though both sites I am working on there is not really a need for interaction add-ons. On my bio page I did put a hyperlink for my blog, but I do not see a reason for any other interactions at this time. As time goes by and I have more time I might add to it and make it my business page for all the extra services I hope to be doing. I did research on them for future use.
Interactions are tools for creating interactive info to keep your guest on your site longer. At freefind.com allows you to add powerful search engines. Bravenet.com allows mailing list, guestbooks, hit counters, search engines, forum processors, greeting cards, and web counters. At zoomerang.com they allow you to create surveys and feedback forums. Raptivity.com/webexpert/index.html is the only I found that charges a free to use their features. They do offer a lot of features and options, but they are a little expensive and it looks a little difficult. If you were going to be adding a lot of interactions then this would probably be the site you would want to go to and pay the fee for a lot of things you need to do what you need to do. When and if I am going to add interactions to my sites I would probably try bravenet.com first and then zoomerang.com out of the ones I looked at.
Finally, is the shopping cart once again I do not see a need for these on either of my sites I am currently working on, but I did research them for in the future. These sites are companies that collect payment for you and are called payment processors and sometimes can be expensive to deal with and have long applications for you ti fill out before you get approved. They have difficult set ups and require some programming skills to start. With research you may get lucky and find places that are not so difficult. You can go to help.godaddy.com/article/765 to get advice and help on easy way to do it. You go to ecommerce option under plugins to build your site. That is the catch it looks like you have to build you site on godaddy at the same time. If you go to shopsite.com you can add order buttons to your site. Then if you go to ecommerce-guide.com/.../shopping-carts/articl.../3604511 you can find more help. The last site I looked at was ecommercetemplates.com it looked interesting but with out registering could not get much information. I think if you are selling products online you definently need to have a shopping cart on your site. It might even be something you might add to a small business site if you would like to give your customers the options of paying online their invoices, it would be a way to get money quicker.
I will be uploading and putting live on the web the bio page I did for the class assignment. I will probably keep it and make some changes to it and then maybe eventually make it a side business page to make extra money. I will be hosted by bravenet.com hopefully domain name will be mickeyrhodybiowebclasspage.bravenet.com. I put a link to my blog page on the site. I will be zipping the business website I am working on to my teacher to see I have done what was suppose to be done and once Precision Sealants site is done with will be hosted by AT&T most likely, with a domain name of www.precisionsealants.net from godaddy.com. It contains 8 to 10 pages with text and pictures and as the company grows the site will grow and will be changed and updated as find new things needed to make it better. It tells about the company, the services, the projects, the employees, employment, how to contact them, and a photo gallery. I most likely will be using a search engine site that registers site with more than one search engine. I will also sign them up with a directory or two.
I am not planning to register my bio page with a search engine or directory at this time because it is not really ready for anyone to see.
The two sites that I have found to like with the most features for the most reasonable price is godaddy.com and bravenet.com, then for search engines I really like quickregister.net.

Assignment 9
We will bringing people to this site by advertisement, search engines, the site listed on all papers and business cards handed out, and then last but not least by word of mouth. I have learned that there are some many places can research to find what is needed for the making of a site. I also learned there is so much you can do and not do and so many places to go to get information needed. I found it helpful to find where and how to go to to get information needed. I do not think it helped much to learn a program to design but it gives you so many options to choose one to find one that is user friendly and yet lets it look professional. I have liked the class and hope to continue to do web pages for many others.
Assignment 8
I did not research shopping carts for this web site because it is not needed for this web site. I am not putting one on the site so at this time I do not see the need to take the time to research it until I need it. I need to spend most of my time on the assignments and the site I am doing and what I need to complete it.
Assignment 7
I have tabs that are linked to the other tabs. I will have the email address so they can click on it and be able to send a email immediately. I have fax numbers on the site for them being able to send information that way also. I do not have a lot of interaction things on the site due to it is an informative business service site. It is to tell about the business, the history, the services provide, and the projects that have done, it also contains contact information, employee information, and the employment information. All that is on the web site was already in the template so I did not get any interactions from any sites. The site will be www.precisionsealants.net.
Assignment 6
Have not registered site with a search engine and still do not have a hosting company yet. I know that the owner has phone service from ATT and that is the phone book the company is listed in so I am thinking that is where he got the domain name from. He will probably want to stick with the same company for everything so I am going to try to use them for hosting and search engine.
Assignment 5
I do not yet have a hosting site to upload the site to. Will be finding one by tomorrow to publish my bio page. I am not yet publishing the website due to it is not complete and is a business site so until complete it will not be published. Once the site is published it will be at the domain name of www.precisionsealants.net.
Assignment 4
I am doing a business web site. I hope to generate new and current customers for this company with this web site. I have designed it using a template for small business in Expressions. It has a home page, about page, services page, projects page, contact page, employees page, employment page, and FAQ page for sure off the top of my head. I have researched other waterproofing company sites by googling waterproofing or weatherproofing companies and floor staining and stamping companies because that is what this business does. I used the sites I found as examples on how to do the web site I am doing. I looked at their competitors sites like Chamberlain, SCS, and American Restoration Inc. We have a domain name of precisionsealants.net. I have to get with the owner to get a hosting site and the rest of the information for the site. It is almost complete.
I have not yet researched the free hosting sites but have read in the book about some options and have looked at the external links for some options. Will be deciding by tomorrow afternoon to publish my bio site and will be zip filing the site to the teacher since it is not final and does not have authors approval.

Assignment 3
I did google web authoring tools and found out which ones are WYSIWYG and which ones aren't. Luckily the program I have already bought is not. I also googled web editing tools and found a lot of them also. I did not successfully download kompozer correctly so did not get to play with it, so I skipped that step in the assignment. I went to Expressions and did the next step in the assignment. I made a one page biography site in Expressions made it into a zip file and sent in the digital dropbox and hope all images went with it. Expressions was somewhat easy, but would be easier if I could find where to and how to add images next to paragraphs, make tabs, and add links so that I can do a business web site that is more than one page with tabs on homepage to take you to the page you need for the infomation you are looking for and don't have to look at a bunch of information you have no interest in. I have a lot of play with to do. The page I did is okay but not exactly what I would want.

Assignment 2
I am not a fan for computer language. I had to write a program my senior year in high school using computer language and the first half of it worked but then ran into a bug and could not find it. I like using web design programs that let you write things the way you understand them and the way it will look like on the web page with a another page putting what I type into html form automatically. It seems to be much easier and quicker than having to memorize all the html tags needed to write a web page in html. I did google for html tags and picked one site to look at. It is probably not the best site for information but it did give me some tags that I could use. The link to that site is www.web-source.net/html_code_chart.htm. I can not wait until we start learning where to go in the web design software programs so that I can start working on a real web page. Since I took a Frontpage class 10 years ago I know a little just needing a refresher and since it was 10 years ago the program is now called Expressions and I am sure has many new features.
Knowing html is a good idea because even if you are using a program like what I like if you run into a problem it helps to know the html language so you can go look at the html page and see if you can find the problem.

Assignment 1
Web pages can be used for many things. You can use them to make money by every hit on the web site. You may use a web site to advertise you business giving examples and information on your business. You may use your web site to sell products you may have to sell. You can use a web site to promote hobbies, ideas, and political views and lets people reply back. If you have a business page showing and telling about your business you may want to include contact information to get some business for your company.
Many types of businesses use web pages for people to see their products and to get information on their products. So are like Facebook where you can communicate with others who have the same interest. Others allow you to purchase things from their web site.
Small businesses who could use the web site to get their company information out there but don't really have the finances to have a web page should not have one.
The only source I used is from the text book chapter one.
I surf the internet every day for many reasons. I look up businesses that we are affiliated with to keep up on the going ons at the places we are at weekly. I do shop online, and I try to take as many classes online. I look up different travel or city information. I find the internet very usefull and resourcefull. I wish every business had a web site to go to get information and make purchases from so I am not have to constantly drive around to find what I am looking for. The web page for me has taken the place of the library quite a bit since I can research so much on the internet.
